Firefox emails unsubscribe doesn't work

A few days ago I signed up for a firefox account so that I could sync data between firefox on my pc and android phone. That works, but I started getting these emails from Mozilla. They tell about some feature and near the end:

You're receiving this email because azspamhater@gmail.com has a Firefox account and is subscribed to Firefox Account Tips.You can unsubscribe or manage your communication preferences at any time.Manage your Firefox account settings by visiting your account page.

I clicked the unsubscribed link and unsubscribed from everything listed on that page, including Firefox account tips. These emails, however keep coming, one a day.

Can anyone tell me what I have to do to get Mozilla to honor the request I submitted to be unsubscribed from Mozilla account tips?
