topic Memory leaks? in Discussions

I have been a loyal Firefox user for years on both Windows and Android, preferring not to have my every Web move monitored and monetized. I have reluctantly given up on Firefox for Windows and switched to Chrome because Firefox starts a ridiculous number of tasks (often more than 40) and eats up all the memory in my system, slowing it to a crawl. I often have to kill it with Task Manager once it gets over 4GB of memory consumption. And it doesn't take a ridiculous number of tabs to hit that level. I keep it up to date - currently on version 107.

Has anyone else seen this? Any suggestions what I can do about it?
