Notepad, Notepad++ are fine, as are other apps - just firefox since last update.

The taskbar shortcut does not have an option for properties but the desktop icon has. Unfortunately I do not see |"Shortcut tab, make sure Run: says "Normal window" not "Maximised"".

Only compatibility option for run for older windows versions.

Latest update (details in title). Not had this before and extremely annoying having to fiddle around resizing the browser. I stats up bigger than the monitor screen size (desktop) PC. It also means some menu items are partly outside of the screen. Each time starting up the PC it is the no different and defaults to bigger than the screen.

@Genshijin : apps on Windows usually remember their last window-size, so close all Firefox windows. Wait around 10-15 seconds. Bring up one Firefox window, and size it how you want it, then close it. Next time you open Firefox, the window should be that size.

💡 If you're unable to resize Firefox as the sides are off-screen, make sure the Firefox window is active, then press ALT and SPACEBAR together, then release and press M. You should then be able to use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move the sides of the app back into view.

You may also wish to right-click on whatever shortcut you use to open Firefox (e.g. on your desktop) and then go to Properties. Then on the Shortcut tab, make sure Run: says "Normal window" not "Maximised".

To create a fresh shortcut to Firefox, go into the folder where the app is (usually 'C' drive -> Program Files -> Mozilla Firefox), then right-click on "firefox.exe" then Send to then Desktop.

@Genshijin : also see if this happens for other apps (for example Notepad or Paint). Are you able to drag them off-screen also?

If so, you might be using one screen, but have two plugged into that PC.

Go to the Start Menu, then into ⚙ Settings, then System, then Display.
If you see numbered rectangles or squares, those represent each monitor Windows sees.
Click "Identify" and see what number comes up on your screen.
Then click the box with that number and in the bottom-right list choice, pick "only use this display".

Don't see anything for this. There is a "detect" to find other displays.
There is only one which is the monitor always used.

I will try the new shortcut idea over the next day or so.
