Get that nonsense spam out of here. That is so in-the-way and distracting, it's literally a dark pattern. I am not giving you my data I am NOT letting my data leave MY DEVICE. If I lose everything, I lose everything, that's not the end of the world for me. But this banner is EXTREMELY ANNOYING AND A SLAP IN THE FACE.

Like I said in the title, this behavior is HOSTILE AGAINST THE USER. This goes or I do. Who has replacement browser suggestions?

Similar, but the solution posted is in a language i am not writing in, so you should have known it's useless to me because I don't know the language, so i can't read the solution.

and I'm mad about the decision making at mozilla forcing this dark pattern on me. I don't want just a solution, I wanted to make it clear this behavior is unacceptable from mozilla, and I want an apology.

found the about:config solution turn "identity.fxaccounts.enabled" to false and restart browser.

and SCREEEEEEEEEW YOU FIREFOX for making me have to right click the web bar and select "reopen closed tab" for EACH AND EVERY TAG I HAD OPENED EXCEPT THE CONTAINERS WHICH ARE JUST GONE. Firefox USED to reopen ALL THE TABS I HAD OPENED WHEN I OPEN FIRFOX WHAT HAPPENED?!?!?!?!?

Double-click on the preference, to set its value to true

And restart Firefox

I don't think you understand what my issue was here, especially since you blew off my solution that worked perfectly for me because making accounts not work made accounts not work which is what i wanted. and now you're telling me to do some hoop jumping malarkey for whatever reason, I don't understand, MY issue- other than my contempt towards the hostile-against-users changes firefox has made- is resolved.

and i DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU EVEN MEAN BY "CHROMESCSS" I DON'T AT ALL UNDERSTAND THOSE INSTRUCTIONS I ALREADY TOLD YOU I'M NOT A FREAKING TECHIE I'M NOT AN EXPERT ON THIS I'M JUST TRYING TO HAVE A FUNCTIONAL BROWSER!

I can understand being frustrated by that, especially if you intentionally don't want to use Sync. A persistent banner for an optional feature can feel more intrusive than helpful. There should at least be a clear way to dismiss it permanently, rather than repeatedly pushing a service some users simply don't want.

This fails to solve the problem for the use-case where people want the option of sync sign-in to remain available, but signed out, without the banner

Any banner worth its salt has an X in the corner that allows the user to immediately and permanently remove it
