To this end I just joined this community (and made my first post) talking about how a URL I type gets "corrected" by adding a "www." in front of it, even if I fully typed out "https://<server>". I understand the desire to serve the less-literate, but not at the expense of your core defenders.

I'm a fervent user and defender of Firefox since 2005-2006 ish. loved Firefox for it's simplicity and and the non-spamming environment. But in the last few year, experience is degrading.

This is the browsing experience I want:
1. I click on the Firefox icon;
2. Firefox open;
3. I browse the internet.

But now the traditional experience is more like:
1. I click on Firefox icon;
2. It start a update;
3. It open
4. It show popup of new things;
5. I close the popup;
6. I disable the new widget feature I dont wan't but install itself anyway;
7. I supress the new Ai box that appear and I don't want but show itself anyway;
8. Show a other popup telling me I can reactivate stuff I just deactivated because I don't want them;
9. I close the page that open up by itself explaining the new stuff I just deactivated (that one is fine, knowing what the new update is about and have the opportunity to decide if I want it or not is good);
10. Start browsing.

Please, stop interrupting or install thing without my consent. It's like a return in the 90s where "toolbar" installed themself just by hovering the mouse on an add. It was not fun then, it's not fumier now. Update could be install when closing Firefox, new thing could be show on the update log page and dismiss with a click without further manipulation. VPN, AI, widget should be solicited and not force into our user experience.
