Home screen icons have shrunk again May 2026

This issue was addressed previously, and I tried that solution, but it has no effect.

Previous solution: go to browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.newtabLayouts.variant

and change values to false. This doesn't work anymore. Is there something else I can try?

The shrinking and crowding of home screen shortcut icons is a result of the revamped Firefox Home layout introduced in Firefox 151. Mozilla altered the element spacing to accommodate upcoming widgets, which rendered the older configurations obsolete. This option is so much better than having the option of selecting Pride (LGBTQ+) for the icon. It is where 2017's and 2004's icons where better than today's, too. Who agrees?
