It seems frustrating to encounter HDCP issues with Prime Video, especially when other platforms work seamlessly. It's essential for streaming services to ensure a consistent experience for users.
Prime Video Streaming Issue - Playback Restricted to Standard Definition

This posting is for informational purposes only. I have provided this info here as the issue may be related to Firefox as well. Amazon Prime Video forum posting attached below.

-----------------------------------------------------

Periodically Only Play Videos in Standard Definition Due to HDCP Requirements

Prime Video randomly will display a message (No Error Code) that states that the video will only play in Standard Definition due to my systems failure to meet HDCP requirements. This is false. All my hardware and connections are fully HDCP compliant. No other streaming platform has this issue. All other streaming platforms that provide DMCA protected videos have the same HDCP requirements and they play videos without this issue. Prime Video does not always display this message. For example: I started watching Halo Legends today. It played flawlessly in HD. I paused the video for about an hour. When I came back and restarted the video, it gave the HDCP message. This message is now persistent. However, in a few days Prime Video will stop giving this message. (This is not the first time this has happened.)

This is not a customer error, hardware issue or connection issue. This is an Amazon Prime Video HDCP detection issue. There is a bug in HDCP detection. This is likely not just an issue with Amazon Video Prime. Given the issues that have cropped up over the past few years, this is likely a communication issue between Prime Video, Microsoft Windows 10/11 and possibly with Mozilla Firefox.

NVIDIA App version: 11.0.7.237

Operating system: Microsoft Windows 11 Home, Version 10.0.26200

Browser: Mozilla Firefox, Version 149.0.2 (64-bit)

DirectX runtime version: DirectX 12

Driver: Game Ready Driver - 591.86

CPU: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13620H

RAM: 16.0 GB

Storage: SSD - 953.9 GB

Graphics card

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU

Direct3D feature level: 12_1

CUDA cores: 2560

Graphics clock: 2355 MHz

Max-Q technologies: Gen-5

Dynamic Boost: Yes

WhisperMode: No

Advanced Optimus: No

Maximum graphics power: 105 W

Memory data rate: 16.00 Gbps

Memory interface: 96-bit

Memory bandwidth: 192.024 GB/s

Total available graphics memory: 14184 MB

System video memory: N/A

Shared system memory: 8043 MB

Dedicated video memory: 6141 MB GDDR6

Video BIOS version: 95.07.16.80.77

Device ID: 10DE 28A1 13C71462

Part number: 3757 0110

IRQ: Not used

Bus: PCI Express x8 Gen4

Display (1): Samsung LF27T35

Resolution: 1920 x 1080 (recommended)

Refresh rate: 75 Hz

Desktop color depth: Highest (32-bit)

HDCP: Supported

Display Connection: WEH Premium High Speed, HDMI 2.2

Web Browser Streaming
Prime Video
