Hi,
recently I noticed that when opening a PDF in the integrated PDF Reader there are a couple options missing on the sidebar.
I have a really big PDF from my cars wiring diagramms that I was always able to go through the headlines of by using the "document structure" in the sidebar.
With the rework of the sidebars design this feature is now greyed out in the new Version.
What is the reasoning for this and is it something I can fix myself?

@CyCosmic this looks like an unintended regression, the document structure should still be available in the new UI (click the button on the top left of the PDF UI, then the dropdown right below that at the top left of the pages panel). Could you share the PDF if you still don't find the document structure?

@CyCosmic wrote:

Hi,
recently I noticed that when opening a PDF in the integrated PDF Reader there are a couple options missing on the sidebar.
I have a really big PDF from my cars wiring diagramms that I was always able to go through the headlines of by using the "document structure" in the sidebar.
With the rework of the sidebars design this feature is now greyed out in the new Version.
What is the reasoning for this and is it something I can fix myself?

I actually have the same issue, and I’ve noticed it too after the recent changes to the integrated PDF viewer. I often rely on the sidebar “document structure” / outline view when working with large technical PDFs, so seeing that option suddenly greyed out has been really frustrating. In my case, it’s especially noticeable with large manuals and diagrams where navigating by headings is basically essential, and scrolling page by page just isn’t practical anymore. It actually reminds me a bit of using a Bentley Flying Spur rental in Dubai, where you expect a premium, fully-featured experience with seamless controls and intuitive navigation systems. You can check more about it here https://rentbentleyindubai.com/rent-bentley-flying-spur-in-dubai/. I’m also wondering whether this is an intentional removal, a temporary limitation, or something related to how the updated PDF reader handles certain file structures. I’ve tried a few things like reopening the file, checking different viewer settings, and even testing other PDFs, but the behavior seems inconsistent or just disabled for some documents. Since I’m dealing with the same issue, I’d really like to know if there’s a workaround or if it can be re-enabled somehow in the current version.
