I get the preloading thing, but I have been saying for a VERY long time that FF takes up a heck of a lot of RAM and the number of processes running with just one web page can mean you have fifteen (15) instances of FF running at once taking up oodles or CPU and RAM.

I hope that Firefox can do the great job on the memory usage issue like google chrome. Sometimes ram usage can effect the laptop battery life when is on the battery power.

Same here. My laptop has 13,9 GB RAM (due to iGPU) but Firefox is using a whopping 8 GB currently for me instead of just between 4 and 6 GB for example, about:memory reveals it's using over 1,3 GB purely for YouTube.com PIDs (!!!) causing my RAM usage to be at 95% currently and slowing my system down... How is YouTube even allowed to use this much RAM in Firefox?
