Quick filter: Why do the main buttons appear only when you start typing into this bar and the not important buttons are there always and always?

After 3 weeks of trying to use this program I now see that important buttons appear when you not only click but start typing in the quick filter bar. Why are these so important buttons so covered like that?

Ps. The not important buttons of the quick filter bar are there always and always and doesn't even have something to do with the word you type in..

Two reasons: 1. conservation of screen space. 2. the criteria to the right of the optional text typing area can be used without any text.
