I find any site that uses badges is bad for productivity. Is there a way to disable them other than using an ad blocker?

If you're using uBlock Origin, next time one appears try to block it with the element picker (https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/Element-picker).

Badges are CRINGE. Join, get a badge. By the time I've done 3 or 4 things, bunch of bull**bleep** in my email box. FFS I'm not a child. Make them opt in or at the least make them not email by default. I get a badge notification from a site and my heart sinks as my opinion of their credibility sinks to "Oh I see. They're a lowest common denominator type site. My bad (click block-domain)"
