Adding AI to Firefox defeats the purpose for many users.

Many users, myself included, have switched to using Firefox because of the lack of AI integration and "bloatware" that other browsers have been increasingly adding over the past few years. Why turn Firefox into just another browser with AI integrated when its appeal for a large portion of its users is the exact opposite? Not to mention the environmental impacts AI has, or even the moral and psychological impact it has on users, it just doesn't seem like the right move to add AI integration to the browser.

Introducing AI to Firefox is the death knell; a huge mania like the dotcom boom will implode shortly, with worldwide repercussions, and it saddens me to see Firefox succumbing to this craze. I have been with Firefox since shortly after it came out, and with Netscape Navigator before that. As we already know, AI/ML is prone to hallucinations, inaccuracies of all sorts, is not fit for purpose, and is a security risk. Take a look at a recent article in The Register,

edit: the URL I posted wasn't deemed acceptable; look in the latest' The Register' for an article named

'AI browsers face a security flaw as inevitable as death and taxes'

and that will tell you what will happen to Firefox; it will just become another 'me too' dangerous pit of vipers. I have become deeply attached to Firefox over the years, but it's time to look for something safer and more secure.
