It feels off-mission."

Firefox CEO and developers need to clarify what he meant by this and if any blocking ad blockers in Firefox is on the table

The fact that he "feels" it is only "off-mission", rather than being fully aware of the fact that it is in opposition and completely incompatible with mozillas mission, is pretty telling, with regards to this qualifications. Or rather lack thereof.

This is an incredible display of dangerous incompetence and detachment from reality, at the highest level of leadership of mozilla. This guy needs to be removed from his position as quickly as possible, before he can catastrophically and irreversibly damage the company. Right now, he's only caused severe damage to their image, that could probably still be fixed. Every day he is allowed to continue running the company, makes that harder and less likely, while increasing the risk of further harm to mozilla.

Welp. The ease of using adblockers was literally the reason I switched to Firefox. I was already looking at alternatives with the sneaky implementation of AI with a hidden opt-out button, but this made my mind up. It's really not the same company it once was.

The new CEO doesn't seem to understand the concept of a browser, or any of the features developed for it over decades. He should never be allowed near a meeting about this browser. He needs to be removed from his post

I installed Firefox because it supports adblockers and because other browsers started adding AI crap.

Currently wondering whether Firefox really wants to drive away its user base. (I got here looking for a way to hide all the AI nonsense, like the moronic "ask a chatbot" context menu item.)
