Chrome's display of search history in the search bar is always embarrassing for me, and there's no way to turn it off. Online solutions either don't work or, while they used to work, are no longer effective.

Firefox does this much better, allowing users to disable search history. It's good for users to have competing software rather than a single company having a complete monopoly. I hope Firefox continues to improve.
