Mozilla VPN v2.28 launched with theming and Google Fi support!

Hi friends!

We’ve got two exciting updates in Mozilla VPN 2.28.0 that we think you’ll love:

‌🌙‌ Dark Mode is now officially supported!

Dark Mode has graduated from Developer Settings and is now available to everyone directly in the VPN Settings. Even better—Mozilla VPN can now follow your system theme automatically for a seamless, personalized experience.

To enable it:

Make sure you're using Mozilla VPN 2.28.0.
(Check this in ‌‌⚙️‌ Settings → About Us)
Navigate to ‌‌⚙️‌ Settings → ‌🔧‌ Preferences → Appearance
Choose Dark Mode — or select Automatic to match your OS theme

‌📶‌ Improved support for Google Fi users

We heard from some of you that Google Fi wasn't working well when the VPN was on. So we added the ability to exclude Google Fi from VPN protection on Android—no more switching the VPN off for this.

To set this up:

Make sure you're using Mozilla VPN 2.28.0 for Android
(Check this in ‌‌⚙️‌ Settings → About Us)
Navigate to ‌⚙️‌ Settings → Excluded Apps
Search for Google Fi and select it to exclude from protection.

Loving the new dark mode! Looks so much better, and I like that it follows my system theme now. Also super thankful for the Google Fi fix, that was a small thing but really annoying.

Mozilla VPN v2.28 brings some fantastic updates! Dark Mode is now officially supported, which is a great feature for those who prefer a darker interface, and it can automatically match your system's theme for a seamless experience. Plus, the new Google Fi support is a game-changer—Google Fi users can now exclude the VPN from their connection, making it much easier to use both simultaneously. It's great to see Mozilla actively listening to user feedback and making improvements. Looking forward to more updates!

Who agrees that it will be better when users can legally provide their own services, instead of needing third-party services? For instance, we would each be able to provide our own legal phone numbers, ip/tcp, domains, etc. Would virtual private networking not just be like Firefox in Private Mode, then?
