topic Firefox's New Tab Page Fails to Display Correct Favicons in Discussions

On Firefox's New Tab page the favicons (company logos) are often (and seemingly randomly) replaced by unattractive generic letters.

Adding the icon file manually using "Edit" and by appending "/favicon.ico" to the website address solves the problem for some sites but it is time consuming and the icons can still revert to generic letters without warning.

Note that the New Tab page is the "face" of Firefox and seeing the correct company logo of shortcuts is a key feature for efficiency in rapidly recognizing the right website. This is not a minor issue, it affects the Firefox brand.

It is a very simple coding fix to append website addresses with the /favicon.ico automatically instead of asking your customers to spend their time fixing a Firefox design problem.

Please address this issue.

@icon @shortcut @newtab @customersupport
