Making bookmarks editable in-line in sidebar

Since so many improvements are going into the Firefox Sidebar, I wanted to draw renewed attention to an old topic:

It would be great if there was a way to enable inline editing bookmarks and folders of bookmarks directly in the sidebar. The only option to rename a bookmark or folder is to right-click > Edit bookmark ... > enter name > click Save. It would be great if there was some option, either a click with a modifier key, or a keyboard shortcut, that would allow for inline editing.

There's already a bugzilla thread on this here, but there doesn't seem to be any movement on this.
