Website address field is way too tall

With the recent update on iOS the part of the browser with the website address field became too tall (I've marked the area on the screenshot). It is VERY distracting. This field used to be smaller and it worked fine, not it just takes quite a lot of space for no reason.
The screenshot was taken on iPad.

In addition, this area used to collapse when scrolling down the webpage, now it collapses only when scrolled up (which is counter-intuitive).

PLEASE make this area smaller again and fix the way it collapses during scroll.
If the accessibility was the concern, please, make this look at least optional.
