Stuck in downloading update

Firefox is always getting stuck in Downloading Update. Why?

Could be any number of reasons. Try downloading latest version from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/desktop-release/. If it keeps failing to update after that, try a refresh (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings); it saves some of your data.

Done all of that but then the next update comes out and it starts all over again.

It’s usually caused by things like corrupted update files, antivirus software blocking the process, or permission issues with the install directory.
