I've ditched thunderbird for the commercial product em client. I don't know what happened but the latest versions of thunderbird use this "global search" that just doesn't work right.

I used to be able to go to a folder and search for any keyword that was relevant, and it would find all the emails.

But now it just doesn't. It finds some emails, mostly old ones.. and a bunch of emails I don't want.

Maybe there is some way I could have "made it work" the way I wanted but that is bad product design if people have to go out of their way to fix it.

Hi there, in Thunderbird, there is the global search option (which searches all messages) and QuickFilter, which shows search options for just one folder (and probably child folders). See Screenshot attached...

Maybe that helps?
