Problem Solved. It was the Free Antivirus which installed its own Browser which interfered with Firefox. Once I deleted the so called Secure Browser, Firefox resumed its normal operation. Very unethical on the part of the Free Browser Manufacturer. Be very careful with those Free Anti Virus Programs.

Avast Antivirus. It started out as a free software package which kept asking for money in order to solve certain problems, some of which they introduced. The Avast Security Browser was installed without my permission, which caused Firefox to malfunction. Apparently they wanted me to switch to their browser. After I deleted the Avast Browser, normal operation to Firefox resumed.
