Looks like I'm not the only one.... lost everything all my passwords and bookmarks.... yes I should have backed them up, won't fall for that one again. But this has never never happened in the past. I have been using Firefox for several years and have been more than pleased with it. But wasn't expecting this. Yes I have and will export passwords/bookmarks in the future, you can be assured of that. But was totally taken back by this. So why did this happen?????

It sounds like FF lost sight of your profile, which is a known infrequent occurrence with an update. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/recover-user-data-missing-after-firefox-update.
