Thunderbird feedback from new user

Dear Thunderbird team,

I am a long term user of the Firefox browser and wanted to try Thunderbird email client as well. I spent some time organizing my emails and creating rules and folders when I had to get back to work; I closed Thunderbird and opened Gmail. I had in mind using both for some time until I make up my mind. Unfortunately, the sorting of my mails to Thunderbird's folders affected the way my emails were organized in Gmail, fact that surprised me and disappointed me. I just wanted to let you know, because you are doing a great job generally.

With kind regards,
Athanasios Mouchasiris

Athanasios, thanks for the feedback.

It sounds like the Thunderbird account was created with imap? With imap, when you move a message to a different folder then that change is propagated to everywhere. It's not something you or Thunderbird can change. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/difference-between-imap-and-pop3

If you are seeing something different, please provide more detail to help us better understand.
