Restore the ability to remove the Firefox logo from the homepage. Not only have the shortcuts become smaller and less convenient, but now it's also impossible to revert to the previous, more user-friendly layout.

browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.newtabLayouts.variant will display to values -a and -b, set both to false, this solves your issue. I believe that later on FF staff wil give you the option to control these values in FF Settings. For now this solves your request.
