Firefox doesn't work on survey questions.

When I filled out a survey from the V.A., Firefox would NOT let me select answers to the questions. NOTHING WOULD HI LITE. When I switched over to my Avast browser, everything selected perfectly and I was able to complete the Veterans survey. Why would this happen? There is something wrong with the Firefox browser.

Yes Firefox has built-in tracking protection, which can sometimes interfere with interactive elements like survey buttons.

I think you should try disabling Enhanced Tracking Protection for the survey website by clicking the shield icon in the address bar and toggling it off. If that doesn’t work, disable any extensions by starting Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode (accessible from the Help menu) to check if an add-on is interfering.
