When updating Firefox PLEASE LEAVE ALL MY SETTINGS ALONE! It's fine to open with a new info page but I've wasted 15 minutes recovering what I want to see when I choose to use FireFox

Agreed. It's the same when the add ~~bloat/annoyances~~ (sorry, of course I mean Valuable Improvements to the User Experience 😉); they shouldn't be automatically switched on for people up-dating. We can read the release notes to see what there is and switch any on that we want.

Just updated on Android and had the same issue. Search suggestions, show voice search, sponsored shortcuts (!), bookmarks, recently visited, automatic font sizing, allow screenshots in private browsing (!!!), and both data collection settings (!!!) were all enabled without my consent (they were all previously disabled by me and always have been). Enhanced tracking protection was lowered to Standard as well. And these are just the settings I've noticed so far.

This is NOT okay.
