Latest release totally EFFED UP

Yesterday, suddenly, I opened firefox and all my pinned tabs disappeared, history disappeared, the open tabs that were there are gone and it looks like a fresh installation.

This is true for all my devices. WTF, firefox? THis is not good. I will have to stop using firefox because I cannot work with a browser that does not remember my history, pinned tabs, nor open to the tabs that I closed.

I checked all the settings and all the settings are correct. I have not found other people complaining about this problem yet, which is why I'm posting this.

Seriously, I'm going to stop using firefox if this doesn't get corrected today. I cannot afford to be f*cking around with this sh*t.

I didn't have the experience you describe, but mine hung and I had to use task manager to kill it. But it's still not completely dead because I can't start it even after shutting down my computer. It says there's no active processes running when I try to run taskkill command, but yet when I try to open it it tells me it's already running. How does that work?

same thing, two computers, Kubuntu 22.4 and 24.10, both updated Firefox to 131.0.3-1,

3 years lost, passwords and bookmarks and history from 2021 appeared.

Problem was that some update emptied the firefox folder under snap and overwrote with fresh content. I don't know, if Mozilla's or Ubuntu's bug. Copying the folder from backup helped.

Today I was forced by Firefox to do an update. It seemed to automatically replace the snap-based configuration with it's own legacy .mozilla/firefox (given reference dates to the files suddenly started to become current.) At any rate the result is a complete loss of all profile information. I've tried the various (AI inspired) fixes and none have worked. I've then the old-school 'figure out which profile was being used and overwrite from a backup' (in this case the backup was the last snap version.) Nothing has worked. Unless I figure this out soon, I'm going to be forced to switch away from my beloved firefox to something a wee bit more stable! Been using it since *early* mozilla days. I certainly hope this 'rot' doesn't break my thunderbird installation.

W T F is going on.

This latest update 132.0.2 has broken my FF.

I fired it up after the "Update" which is usually a meaning of making things better, but no.

All my add-ons were disabled for some reason

I have experienced lots of hangs and "App not responding" etc and have had to Ctrl alt del to close it.

And before some jackass comes in and tells me it's something to do with my PC, well, how is it that all was fine before I installed 132.0.2

You people need to get your Sh*& together before you release updates and make sure they don't fluck up people's installs.

And whilst I'm here, WHY so god-**bleep** many updates for christ's sake, it seems as though every few days there is one?
