Navigation bar bugged to the bottom

My navigation bar recently bugged to the bottom of Firefox nightly, taking up significantly more screen space, wrecking navigation flow and reducing usability.

I was able to fix the bug by going to the debug menu (settings-> about Firefox nightly-clicking the Firefox 5 times)

and disabling the navigation bar.(settings -> secret settings ->disable "enable navigation toolbar" )

This unfortunately appears to be an intentional change, which really ought to be reverted or turned into a real non-secret setting.
