There is a similar-looking report on Reddit here (starting in Firefox 126):

https://old.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/1dkih34/pdf_rendering_error/

Just in case this is caused by High Contrast mode, could you try turning that off? This article has the steps to do that: https://support.mozilla.org/kb/disable-high-contrast-mode-firefox

Thank you jscher2000. I do not have High Contrast mode on. This problem is definitely caused by Firefox update 127.0 just as the poster on Reddit said. As far as I'm concerned, this is a very high priority bug and needs to be fixed immediately. I don't like going to Chrome to see PDFs. Is there some way to notify FF programmers?

Are you also running Firefox on Linux Mint?

The redditor mentioned that the PDF rendered properly in Firefox's Troubleshoot Mode. That mode disables add-ons (unlikely to be the issue), hardware acceleration of graphics (could be a factor), the JavaScript compilers (seems unlikely), and any userChrome.css/userContent.css files.

I did find a bug on file for PDFs in Linux Mint with hardware acceleration enabled, so you could test with it disabled:

Bug report: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1901789

Hardware acceleration setting: https://support.mozilla.org/kb/performance-settings

Troubleshoot mode: https://support.mozilla.org/kb/diagnose-firefox-issues-using-troubleshoot-mode

Regarding the status of the bug, I think someone running Linux Mint needs to help track down the specific change that causes the problem. One way to identify the relevant code change is to use MozRegression. However, if the problem can't be replicated every time reliably upon first run, this isn't going to be easy because it's hard to confirm that the problem did or did not exist in the relevant test build. That said, here's where the tool is in case you want to pitch in: https://mozilla.github.io/mozregression/

No, no Linux Mint. Those running it must be a very tine proportion of Firefox users. It was update 127.0. Can't we get another update to correct this egregious error.

Huh, marco? What a disappointment "Mozilla Connect" is! I contacted this site for help and now you want MY help. If I knew what the problem with PDF rendering was, I would not have posted.

jscher2000 started his post with "Linux Mint". That's why I didn't go any further. Was he suggesting I run troubleshoot mode on MS Windows-10?

The Mint bug was the only one I saw in a bug search, but it's sometimes hard to find new bug reports.

Yes, try the troubleshooting steps (hardware acceleration, troubleshoot mode) to see whether they make any difference on your Firefox on Windows 10.

Thank you jscher2000. Sorry, FF is now rendering PDFs ok. Maybe I jumped the gun and should have tried a few more websites than just Fidelity. I'm now on update 127.0.2 everything seems to be fine.
