Mouse Scroll Wheel is Very Laggy after installing Waterfox G6.0.16

My Waterfox version was automatically updated last week from G6.0.14 to G6.0.16. Since then, the scroll wheel on my MS Mouse 5000 has become frustratingly laggy - not only for browsing, but also for apps like MS Outlook, etc. I've tried adjusting the I rolled back to G6.0.14 and it seems that the previous and expected scroll wheel function returned. I have tried adjusting the vertical scroll lines and speeds to no avail. Additionally, I've run the following Win10 commands without benefit.

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
SFC /scannow

I've also tried updating my mouse & keyboard drivers - again without benefit. Any ideas? For the moment, I'm sticking with Waterfox G6.0.14.

Windows version: Win 10 Pro version 22H2, OS Build 19045.4593
