Currently using Firefox 121.0 on Windows 11.
Reset the default search engine to Duckduckgo in December. this remained default until 8Jan24
Typed a search term into the bar AM on 9Jan24 and the default has reverted to Google.
AFAIK there has been no update. Nobody else uses my PC.

Anyone any idea why this would happen please?

Running Firefox 113.0.2 on Ubuntu 18.04 LTE yesterday (May 19, 2024) I entered a search term and was surprised to see a google results screen instead of the usual DuckDuckGo screen. I have used DuckDuckGo as my default search engine in Firefox foe many years and had made no changes. Can someone explain why and how this happened? I have reset it to DuckDuckGo and hoe this doesn't happen again, but it gives me an insecure feeling about Firefox privcy and security that this can happen.

Same thing just happened to me. I configured my default search engine to use DuckDuckGo. It worked for a couple weeks. Without any input from it, it changed back to Google.
