I guess they mean "this icon is not a button, it opens a menu", or something like that. We are all used to it and the new user can discover that just by hovering over or clicking each icon.</P><P>While we're at it, why not have a third symbol for "this icon opens a panel" and a fourth one for "this icon opens a tab" etc. etc.</P><P>These unwieldy arrows are totally superfluous, and they create two annoying inconveniences:</P><P>1. They take up precious room on the toolbar</P><P>2.
