topic Thunderbird 154.0 does not remember passwords and cryptographic key credentials after restart in Firefox Labs

After one of the recent Thunderbird updates, most likely after updating to version 154.0 (64-bit, release channel), I started experiencing a problem with stored credentials.

Every time Thunderbird is started, it asks me to manually enter the passwords for my individual email accounts again. The problem also affects USENET accounts and credentials/passwords related to the cryptographic keys used with encrypted email.

Each time, I enter the correct credentials and select the option asking Thunderbird to remember/save them. I have already done this many times. The credentials work correctly during the current session, but after closing Thunderbird and starting it again, the same password prompts appear again.

Steps to reproduce:

Start Thunderbird.

Thunderbird asks for passwords for email accounts / USENET accounts and for credentials related to cryptographic keys.

Enter the correct credentials and select the option to remember/save them.

Close Thunderbird.

Start Thunderbird again.

Thunderbird asks for the same credentials again.

Expected behavior:

When the user selects the option to remember a password, the stored credentials should also be used after restarting Thunderbird, as they were previously.

Actual behavior:

Every new Thunderbird session requires the credentials to be entered manually again, despite previously selecting the option to remember them.

The issue occurs with multiple accounts rather than with just one particular server, and it also affects USENET.

Is this a known issue or a regression in recent Thunderbird versions? Is a fix planned?

I have been using Thunderbird for a long time and would prefer to continue using it, but having to enter multiple passwords again after every restart is becoming very inconvenient.
